A process of manufacture of cylindrical rod-iron articles with shape memory made of polymeric composite materials includes obtaining billet by pouring of polymeric composition with the filler of thermo-extended graphite into the appropriate mould, moulding the reticular structure of the material of billet by its hardening, deformation of hardened billet in the highly elastic state with its subsequent cooling under isothermal conditions down to the temperature of vitrification temperature. The deformation of billet is carried out by combining deformation in radial and longitudinal direction, for which first is achieved the plunger extrusion of initial billet through the draw plate with extended cylindrical channel, the extruded article is taken from the channel of draw plate and is placed in the mould of the same diameter as the diameter of the channel of draw plate. After this, the extruded article is deformed by axial compression with decrease of its length to the value, which is less than the length of initial billet, and the finished article with the shape memory is obtained.
