PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cubic boron nitride sintered compact excellent in abrasion resistance. SOLUTION: The cubic boron nitride sintered compact comprises a cubic boron nitride having 0.1-1μm average crystal grain diameter and its composition contains 50-500ppm carbon, 50-500ppm oxygen and the balance substantially boron and nitrogen.
