PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical disc having a high CN ratio of reproduced signal with a simple process. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes a process, in which a positive-type photoresist layer is formed on the main surface of a glass substrate to form a master disc. A laser beam is focused onto the photoresist layer to form a latent image consisting of fine recesses. The master disc is then brought into contact with an akali solution to remove the latent image part and developed and fine recesses are formed on the master disc. The master disc is developed in alkali solution whose normality is within a range of 0.17 N-0.21 N. |
