PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire saw capable of regulating tensile force of a wire between rollers for working, simple in structure and capable of reducing manufacturing cost without providing a dancer arm and a detection means of its revolving displacement quantity. SOLUTION: A wire 18 delivered from one reel 25 is taken up on the other reel 26 after it is wound several times around a plural number of rollers 15, 16, 17 for working. A work 22 is cut and worked by making the work 22 contact with the wire 18 among the rollers 15, 16, 17 for working. At the time of cutting work of the work 22, tensile force of the wire 18 among the rollers 15, 16, 17 for working is regulated and held to be a specified value by controlling torque of a motor 27 for reels at least on the delivery side out of the motors 27, 28 to rotate the both reels 25, 26. Torque of this motor 27 for the reel is set and computed in accordance with a winding diameter of the wire 18 on the reels 25, 26. |
