PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering system that minimizes the number of universal joints made to be mountable even in a space-saving spot in a front bonnet where a clearance gap is small. SOLUTION: The number of universal joints 11 and 12 on top of a steering shaft 1 in this steering system is set to two pieces in total. The universal joint 12 is set up on an input part extension line of a steering gear, and likewise the universal joint 11 is set up on an extension line of the steering shaft 1. Then, each height of the universal joints 11 and 12 is almost flush with that of side members 2 and 3 in parallel, and the universal joint 12 on one side is placed in front of an engine 7, and the universal joint 12 on the other is set up in a side face of the engine 7 at a higher position. |
