PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink supply device in which a negative pressure can be applied to ink being supplied to a print head without requiring an ink supply pressure regulating means. SOLUTION: When an ink package 30 is housed in an ink cartridge 40 and then the ink cartridge 40 is slid in the direction of an arrow X, an ink extraction member 22 is inserted into a through hole 42 and then the ink extraction member 22 is thrust into the ink encapsulating part 31 of the ink package 30. Consequently, ink is supplied to a print head through an ink supply tube 23, or the like. Since the ink package 30 comprises a laminate film member of a plurality of film sheets composed of polyethylene resin, or the like, having shape recovery properties, the ink being supplied to a print head is kept at a negative pressure. Furthermore, since the ink extraction member 22 is formed into a hollow needle-like body, it can be thrust easily into a recess 32 made in the ink package 30. |
