<p>The invention forms part of trunking fixed to e.g. a supporting wall, in which an upper compartment is reserved for mounting equipment such as switchgear, etc., and a lower for the various associated cable runs. Clip-on covers enclose both compartments. In addition, when the lower compartment is subdivided, access to the sub-compartments is at least partially barred, in service, by shutters (34) mounted on the rim (31) of the turned-up edge of the shelf-like partitions (27). Each shutter is carried on hinges (45) by a support channel (33) clipped over the rim, and adopts one of two stable angular positions - one generally horizontal, giving access, the other the in-service position, closing off access to the sub-compartment floored by the partition. The shutter (34) and support channel are integrally , the hinge action (F) being permitted by molded a flexible connecting strip (45), thinner than the rest of the material. Also, slots, perpendicular to the hinge line, are formed at intervals, extending into the inner zone (40) of the shutter. The inner edge (38) of the shutter has to overcome an upright spur (37) in order to pass from one stable position to the other. Opt., the trunking is supported on a horizontal surface.</p> |
