PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersant which is capable of exhibiting dispersion properties and dispersion retention characteristics with respect to, in particular, a hydraulic composition having a <=30% W/C ratio [water/(hydraulic powder) ratio] and accordingly strength in an ultrahigh strength region, by using an adequate amount of addition of the dispersant to the hydraulic composition, and has lesser delayed action and also is capable of suppressing expression of excessive viscosity of such a hydraulic composition immediately after kneading. SOLUTION: This dispersant comprises a copolymer (or its salt) (I) of a specific alkenyl ether and maleic acid, and another copolymer (II) obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a specific monomer (a) such as (meth)acrylic methoxypolyethylene glycol ester, and another specific monomer (b) such as (meth)acrylic acid. |
