<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image generating apparatus which generates stereoscopic images, adapted to enable appropriate luminance level (print density) control to be performed, even when the image is printed out using a printer having exposure correction function, and to provide an electronic camera. <P>SOLUTION: A CCD color imaging element 34 forms right and left parallel object images and photoelectrically converts the object images into an object image signal. In this case, the object image signal is analyzed by an exposure control section 50d, to calculate the exposure information on a predetermined photometric area. Then, when an SPM compositing section 50b generates a stereo image from the object image signal, a partition area setting section 50a sets the luminance level of a partition area, on the basis of the exposure information on the parallel object images, with the partition area being a median strip which is used to arrange monocular images of the parallel object images away from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
