<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which is used as an additive which gives improved performances to a fuel or a lubricant. <P>SOLUTION: This composition contains a reaction product between a treated amine and a compound selected from the group consisting of a hydrocarbyl succinic acid anhydride, a Mannich adduct derived from a hydrocarbyl-substituted phenol reacted with formaldehyde, an ethylene-propylene copolymer on which an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic group is grafted, a copolymer of an unsaturated acid and a polyolefin, and a hydrocarbon polymer having an ester functional group. The reaction product is oil-soluble and has a number average molecular weight determined by the gel permeation chromatography of about 900 to about 50,000. The treated amine contains a primary amine which is obtained by reacting an aliphatic or aromatic amine containing at least one primary or secondary amino group with acrylonitrile or at least its homologue and reducing the reaction product. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
