<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system to which a public key is delivered from an image processing apparatus to information processing apparatus which prevents the delivery of the public key to unspecified users. <P>SOLUTION: A PC 20 inquires of an MF apparatus 10 whether there is a device public key. The MF apparatus 10 replies that there is or is not a device public key in response to the inquiry. If the reply is that there is a device public key, the PC 20 sends a user certificate registered in advance to the MF apparatus 10. The MF apparatus 10 sends the device public key registered in advance to the PC 20 upon user authentication based on the user certificate.
