MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSOR AND MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image processor capable of preventing a lesion of a polyp or the like from being overlooked by a user, and a medical image processing method.

SOLUTION: This medical image processor comprises: an edge extraction part for extracting the edge of the input two-dimensional image of the image of living tissue; a three-dimensional model estimation part for estimating the three-dimensional model of the living tissue on the basis of the two-dimensional image; a voxel extraction part for extracting a prescribed voxel group to be the calculation object of a shape feature amount on the basis of the positions of respective voxels with the presence of the edge estimated as a part of the three-dimensional model; a shape feature amount calculation part for calculating the shape feature amount for at least a part of the voxels in the prescribed voxel group; a three-dimensional shape extraction part for extracting a voxel group for which the three-dimensional model is estimated as a prescribed shape on the basis of the shape feature amount; and a raised shape detection part for defining the voxel group as the voxel group constituting a raised shape in the three-dimensional model of the living tissue.
