A device for locking a glove box is provided to keep locking state of the door when the door is deformed by external impact. A device for locking a glove box comprises a door(50), a handle, a knob(53), a rotary bar(55), a rotary unit(61), a latch(57), and a rib(80). The rotary unit is installed at the rotary bar, and being pressed by the knob and rotated. The latch is extended from the rotary unit, and releasing locking state of the housing. The rib is formed in the door, and prevents rotation of the rotary unit when the door is deformed by external impact. The rotary unit has a body(62), a knob bar(64), a rod bar(65), and a rib bar(66). The body has an insert hole which is inserted to the rotary bar. The knob, located at a lower part of the knob, is extended from the body. The rod bar is extended from the body and being coupled with the rod. The rod is connected with the latch. The rib bar is extended from the body, and separated at predetermined distance from the rib. The rib bar has an elastic unit to returns the rotary unit back when external force is diminished.
