A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) comprising the same are provided to reduce the manufacturing cost even without deteriorating the performance of the backlight unit, by using a wire instead of a flexible printed circuit board to electrically connect lamp sockets and a power supply unit. A top chassis(300) and a bottom chassis(900) form a containing space therein. A plurality of lamps(410) are arranged on the bottom chassis. A power supply unit supplies electric power to the lamps. A plurality of lamp sockets(430) are disposed on the bottom chassis, wherein the lamp sockets fix the lamps. The electric power is applied to the lamps through the lamp sockets. A wire connects the power supply unit and the lamp sockets electrically. The wire connects at least two lamp sockets electrically. |
