<p>The present invention relates to the process of the grafting of monomers onto polyolefins in the presence of organic peroxides, whereby the monomer(s) and organic peroxide have been absorbed into a carrier polymer that, under the grafting conditions, undergoes chain scission in preference to cross-linking in the presence of organic peroxides. The described grafting process allows to obtain an impact-modified graft-polyolefins useful as adhesives to polar polymers, metals, epoxy resins, cellulosic substrates and other polyolefins. Moreover, the described grafting process allows to obtain impact-modified, grafted polyolefin compounds with improved extrudability, heat stability and reduced gels or imperfections.</p> |
