PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a power unit along the axis of a crankshaft while securing design flexibility of the inner diameter of a cylinder bore and arrangement of a timing transmission mechanism etc., in the power unit for a motorcycle which has a transmission mechanism stored in a crankcase, a clutch device connecting/disconnecting power transmission between the crankshaft and the transmission mechanism and stored in a clutch chamber, and an oil filter interposed between an oil pump driven by the power transmitted from the crankshaft and portions to be supplied with oil and attached to a clutch cover.
