PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutter bit enabling a reduction in the wear of a blade part and an increase in excavation efficiency by reducing an excavation resistance. SOLUTION: This cutter bit comprises a hard tip 31 for excavating sediment, a body part 32 having the hard tip 31 secured to the end, and a vibrating body 45 which is attached to the body part 32 and which generates a longitudinal wave toward the hard tip 31. When the sediment 40 is excavated by the hard tip 31, the longitudinal wave is generated from the vibrating body 45 toward the hard tip 31. The excavation resistance occurring during the excavation is reduced by excavating the sediment 40 while repeating the contact and non-contact of the end 31 of the hard tip 31 with the surface of the sediment 40 by the longitudinal wave.
