The arrangement has a wire (200) for fastening an upper end plate (100) and a lower end plate (140), which are mounted on end sections of a fuel cell stack. A tensioning device (110) is mounted on a section of a top side of the upper end plate. A tensioning guide (120) contains a middle guidance for guiding upwardly and downwardly arranged movement of the device. An upper guide (130) and a lower guide (150) are respectively mounted on the top side and a bottom side of the two plates for guiding the wire that is made of a piano wire or a shape memory alloy.
