<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical integrated device and its manufacturing method capable of reducing cost for the optical integrated device and miniaturizing it. <P>SOLUTION: The optical integrated device for emitting a laser beam for irradiating an optical disk and receiving the laser beam reflected on the optical disk has a quadrangular semiconductor substrate 10 where two diagonal lines approximately orthogonalizes; a light receiving part 15 formed on one diagonal line AC of the semiconductor substrate; a submount 11 mounted on the other diagonal line BD; a semiconductor laser element 12, having an emitting surface S2 for emitting a laser beam L1, mounted on the submount so that the emitting surface faces an intersection O of the two diagonal lines; a mirror chip 13, having a reflective surface S1 for reflecting the laser beam, mounted on the other diagonal line so that the reflective surface faces the emitting side; and an optical element 4 equipped with diffraction grating 20 for separating the laser beam in prescribed directions and a hologram grid 21 for irradiating the light receiving part with the reflected light, arranged on an upper part of the semiconductor substrate with a prescribed gap. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
