PURPOSE:To inexpensively manufacture the medium with excellent characteristics by forming a recording layer by coating a board with coating solution containing fine particles of recording substance having specific value or more of average particle size and binder, and curing it. CONSTITUTION:Recording substance has 1000Angstrom of average particle size. If the particle size of the substance is larger than 1000Angstrom , a defect due to scattering of light in the case of recording, reading cannot be ignored, and an excellent optical recording medium cannot be obtained. The fine particles of the substance is desirably 600Angstrom or less of average particle size. As binder, optical curable organic precursor having low molecular weight is employed, and it is advantageous to cure by light emitting, etc., after coating. The ratio of the particles to the binder is desirably 1:3-100 by weight. To manufacture the medium, coating solution in which the particles of the recording substance are dispersed in the binder, a board is coated with the solution, and cured. |
