发明名称 MEASURING METHOD FOR DEPTH OF UNDERWATER OBJECT USING OPTICAL FIBER
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To measure the depth of each point of an underwater object roughly continuously as to distance and time. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber whose transmission parameter varies with temperature is attached to an object to be measured and is submerged into water and light pulses are incident from one end of the optical fiber. The temperature of each point of the optical fiber is found according to the elapse of the time from the incidence of back scattered light and a light pulse to the reception of the back scattered light, the time being determined according to the transmission parameter. A depth indicator is mounted at one part of the object to be measured and as the depth indicator sinks the temperature distribution in the direction of the depth underwater is measured and the depth of each point of the optical fiber is found from the correspondence of the temperature distribution on the optical fiber to that in the direction of the depth underwater.</p>
