摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a material to be recorded for ink jet recording imparting high-grade image quality excellent in ink absorbability and enhanced in gloss, transparency and water resistance. CONSTITUTION:An ink absorbing layer containing a water-soluble polymer having a quaternary ammonium base is provided on a support and a coating soln. containing spherical silica fine particles subjected to hydrophobic surface treatment and an alcohol-soluble polymer of which the amt is 5-150% by wt. of the spherical silica fine particles is applied to the upper surface of the ink absorbing layer so that the polymer is present in an amt. of below 0.3g/m<2> and spherical silica fine particles are present in a coating ratio of 1-50% of the total surface area of the ink absorbing layer.
