<p>PURPOSE:To carefully control power consumption for every circuit element and to flexibly cope with the addition and change of the circuit element. CONSTITUTION:In the integrated circuit composed of plural circuit elements, each circuit element detects the input of data in the circuit element by input detection circuit 14 and measures the time required for the termination of a processing by the circuit element by applying a trigger to a timer 15. The timer 15 turns on an operating flag FA from the start of the measurement to the termination of the measurement, and turn off the operating flag FA after the measurement is terminated. A switch circuit 16 supplies a clock signal CK as a start mode to a main circuit 12 while the operating flag FA is turned on and supplies a low speed clock CK' as a halt mode to the main circuit 12 while the operating flag FA is turned off. As a result, the circuit element itself switches the start mode and the halt mode.</p> |
