PURPOSE: To provide a restraint device free to expand furnished with a means to distribute force of the restraint device between tether straps. CONSTITUTION: A tether assembly 10 for an expandable restraint means 16 is furnished with tether straps 30 and first and second intermediate pads 32, 34. A first end part 42 of the tether straps is connected to the first intermediate pad 32 by a circular first stitched part 54. The first intermediate pad 32 is connected to a first panel 12 of an airbag by a circular second stitched part 56 arranged on the outside in the cross direction of the first end part 42 of the tether straps. A second end part 44 of the tether straps is connected to the second intermediate pad 34 by a circular first stitched part 66. The second intermediate pad 34 is connected to a second panel 14 of the airbag by a circular second switched part 68 arranged on the outside in the cross direction of the second end part 44 of the tether straps.
