<p>PURPOSE:To improve the safety and function in production and to expand the degree of freedom in ornamentation and design of a club head. CONSTITUTION:A coating layer 4 consisting of an ornamental metal is formed by low-temp. thermal spraying on at least a face surface 2. At this time, this metallic coating layer 4 formed by using, for example, a tungsten carbide which is an extrahard material having excellent wear resistance or using titanium or its alloy which increases the driving distance of a hit ball and has good styling or selecting metals, such as nickel allay, zinc and aluminum, having excellent rust preventiveness. As a result, the club performance is improved and the head is capable of withstanding long-term use. In addition, the coating layer is formed by low-temp. thermal spraying and, therefore, even if the metallic head is hardened, the metallic coating layer is inexpensively formed without adversely affecting this hardening at all.</p> |
