The proposed method for acoustic air sounding consists in preliminarily determining the directions and frequencies of signals that correspond to external acoustic interferences, determining the direction and frequency of the signal with the least amplitude, and transmitting a sounding signal with the said frequency in the said direction. To determine the parameters of the atmosphere, acoustic signals are used that are scattered in a result of thetemperature inhomogeneity of the atmosphere. The proposed method is distinctive by its enhanced sounding range and measurement accuracy.
