A motor with compensation for loss-in-weight and a drum type washing machine having the same are provided to omit balance correction of a tub according to weight variation of the motor so as to reduce time and effort for the estimation and change of the balance. A drum type washing machine(200) includes a cabinet for forming an outer appearance of the drum type washing machine, a tub(210) to provide a space where laundry is washed, a rotating drum to wash the laundry by dropping the laundry in the tub, a motor(100) installed between the tub and the drum, and a weight compensation member(130) installed to a stator(110) of the motor. The upper side and the lower side of the tub are fixed in the cabinet by a suspension spring and a damper, respectively so that the balance is maintained to optimize the washing of the laundry. A shaft(220) fixed to the rear side of the drum is fixed to the tub by a bearing so that the drum is installed in the tub to rotate. The motor is a BLDC motor, and includes the stator fixed to the tub, a rotor(120) fixed to the shaft of the drum, and the weight compensation member installed to the stator. |
