PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform imaging capable of enlarging a dynamic range reflecting the luminance change or the like without saturating a high luminance part by simple constitution. SOLUTION: A CCD 22 is driven by the high-speed and low-speed element shutters having different imaging time by a CCD driver 24, imaged signals at a low speed are passed through a DSP 30 and compared with the reference signals REF for high luminance level detection of a detection circuit 32, and by a replacement circuit 31 to which the comparison signals are inputted, replacement signals for which they are replaced with the signals equivalent to the coefficient multiple or the like of the imaged signals the image of a high luminance level part at a high speed are generated. Thus, the dynamic range is enlarged, a luminance level is entirely compressed in a Knee compression circuit 39 further and display is performed without generating white paint-out or the like in a display means.
