Two pump signals with two different wavelengths ( lambda B, lambda R) are fed via a coupler into the transmission segment (SLWR). The first wavelength ( lambda B) is shorter than the smallest wavelength ( lambda MI) of the optical signal (OS) and the second wavelength ( lambda R) is larger than the largest wavelength ( lambda MA) of the optical signal (OS). The optical receiving signal (OSE) is weakened with the pump power of the second pump signal (PS2). While the first pump signal (PS1) increases once again the signal level, tilting occurs. Different tiltings with adjustable attenuation or amplification values can be thus carried out.
