A method for manufacturing a flat panel display and a flexible substrate used for the flat panel display are provided to restrain flexibility of the flexible substrate until predetermined processing steps are performed on the flexible substrate and then make the flexibility of the flexible substrate manifest after the processing steps. A flexible substrate(100) is prepared. At least one edge of the flexible substrate is folded. A flat panel display manufacturing process is performed on the flexible substrate. The folded edge of the flexible substrate is cut and removed. Four edges of the flexible substrate are folded.
