A character input apparatus and method in a mobile terminal are provided to reduce input error by inputting grouped characters through a movement key and an OK key. When a key on which a representative character is marked is inputted, characters included in character set of the representative character are displayed and a selective display is positioned on the representative character among the displayed characters(305,307). When a movement key is inputted, the selective display is moved along the direction corresponding to the movement key(309,311). When an OK key is inputted, the character on which the selective display is positioned is inputted(313,315). |
