<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material which has excellent color development properties, which hardly causes skin fogging due to dry heat and wet heat after color development recording, and which has excellent storage stability of a color-developed image. <P>SOLUTION: In this thermal recording material, a thermal color-developing layer, which contains a normally colorless or light-colored color-developing compound, a developing compound capable of making the color-developing compound develop a color in thermal time, and an additive, is provided on a substrate; 4-allyloxy-4'-hydroxydiphenylsulfone is contained as the developing compound; and a compound, which is expressed by formula (1), is contained as the additive.
