PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position display system for causing a driver or a person to instantaneously perceive a target, or a landmark, exactly transmitting a scheduled travel route to the driver, and causing the driver to drive at ease according to navigation even if the driver is unable to read a map in particular. SOLUTION: This position display system is equipped with: a map database; a means for obtaining information from the map database, the information being on a scheduled travel route leading from a travel start position to a destination; a means for detecting a present position of the movable body itself; a means for detecting the movement direction of the movable body itself based on information on sequentially detected present positions; a camera for photographing an image of a forward visual field of the movable body itself on the move; a means for converting information on a prescribed forward zone extending from a present position of the movable body itself, out of the information on the travel route, into a scheduled travel route bird's-eye image in a plane coordinate system; a means for correcting the bird's-eye image obtained by the conversion in the coordinate system according to the movement direction to combine it with the image obtained by photographing by the camera; and a means for displaying an image obtained by their combination.
