PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deterioration detection system and a deterioration detection method capable of determining accurately the deterioration level of a hydrogen sensor 4.

SOLUTION: This deterioration detection system of the hydrogen sensor is equipped with a storage means 2 for storing a history of a measured concentration of hydrogen measured by the hydrogen sensor 4 and a measuring time, and a correlation between the exposure quantity and the deterioration quantity of the hydrogen sensor 4 per prescribed time; and a control device 3 for determining the exposure quantity per prescribed time of the hydrogen sensor 4 used for measurement from the history of the measured concentration and the measuring time, and determining the deterioration quantity from the correlation between the exposure quantity and the deterioration quantity.
