PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely position and hold flat burners without rattling in both of longitudinal and vertical directions in a combustion device in which a partitioning plate 55 is mounted in a combustion box to partition a space of the combustion box into a combustion chamber 5a and an air supply chamber 5b at a lower side of the combustion chamber, the plurality of flat burners 6 are laterally arranged in the combustion chamber, and a burner pressing member 58 having engagement portions 583 with recessed portions 63 formed on rear edges of the flat burners, is mounted at a rear part of the combustion chamber. SOLUTION: The burner pressing member 58 comprises an uprising plate portion 581 opposite to an inner face of a rear plate 54 of the combustion box 5, and a bent plate portion 582 bent and extended forward from an upper edge of the uprising plate portion, and the engagement portions 63 with the recessed portions 63 of the flat burners 6 are formed on the bent plate portion 582. A swelling portion 541 having an inclined portion 541a kept into contact with a bent corner portion of an upper edge of the uprising plate portion 581 and inclined while ascending forward, is formed on the rear plate 54.
