A mobile terminal having a touch screen is provided to allow a user to search and execute a menu by touching direction keys displayed on the touch screen. A controller displays menus on a touch screen according to a select signal of a user(S91). The controller checks whether the touch screen is touched(S93). When the touch screen is touched, the controller checks whether the touch has been made on a pre-set certain region(S95). If the touch has been made on the pre-set certain region, the controller displays the touched certain region and executes a function connected with the touched certain region(S97).
