<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell wherein an equipment such as a reforming machine is not required since hydrocarbon based fuel such as natural gas and gasoline can be directly used for a negative electrode fuel without reforming it to hydrogen, and therefore, a cell structure can be miniaturized, and power can be stably, efficiently, and economically generated. <P>SOLUTION: Hydrocarbon such as natural gas and gasoline, and water are used as negative electrode active materials, proton, or a conductive film of OH<SP>-</SP>and/or O<SP>2-</SP>is used as a diaphragm, and an oxidizer such as oxygen and air is used as a positive electrode material to form this fuel cell, and a catalyst made of a transition metal is preferably used on the negative electrode side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
