#CMT# #/CMT# Catalyst material (I) for the treatment of combustion exhaust gases or for the catalytic conversion of carbon-containing particles, is new, where the catalyst material contains at least 45 mole% of cobalt related to the total content of catalytically active components. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are included for: (1) an exhaust gas after treatment device, preferably diesel particle filter or oxidation catalyst comprising ceramic or metallic carrier coated with (I); and (2) a process for manufacturing exhaust gases after treatment device comprising applying (I) on a carrier by a sol-gel-process. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# (I) is useful for: the treatment of combustion exhaust gases; for the catalytic conversion of carbon-containing particles; and in exhaust gas after treatment device (claimed). (I) is also useful for the treatment of gaseous, liquid and/or solid pollutants. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# (I) improves the cold start behavior of diesel particle filter, hence reduces the elimination of fine dust from the automobile exhaust fumes. #CMT#INORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preparation: No preparation method is given. Preferred Composition: (I) further comprises: lanthanum, as a second component; and platinum (0.1-4 mole%). Preferred Process: In the sol-gel-process, an alcoholate of a catalytic active component is used as starting material. Preferred Components: (I) is a binary mixed oxide or ternary mixed oxide. The binary mixed oxide contains cobalt-lanthanum composition of formula (Co(92.5-99.5)La(8-0.5)). The ternary mixed oxide comprises cobalt-lanthanum-platinum composition of formula (Co(88-99.3)La(8-0.5)Pt(4-0.1)). The amount of cobalt is at least 85 mole% or 92-99.5 mole%. The active component is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, an element of the third main group, silicon, germanium, tellurium and/or selenium, preferably element of lanthanide, zinc, cadmium, scandium, yttrium, titanium, niobium, tantalum, molybdenum, tungsten, ruthenium, antimony, nickel and/or silver. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# None given. |
