An apparatus and a method for correcting a sound for a vehicle audio system are provided to correct or remove distortion of a frequency characteristic by using CD without a test signal. An acoustic correction apparatus includes a microphone(10), an acoustic analysis unit(20), and an acoustic correction unit(30). The microphone is installed indoors. The acoustic analysis unit includes a first acoustic analysis unit and a second acoustic analysis unit. The first acoustic analysis unit produces target frequency characteristic data at a specific listening position from a sound signal reproduced through an audio system. The second acoustic analysis unit measurement frequency characteristic data at the listening position from the measurement acoustic signal collected in the microphone. The acoustic correction unit controls the equalizer of the audio system using the target and measurement frequency data. |
