An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for providing a chatting service in which a device including a display unit has chats with one or more external devices through visual symbols, the method comprising the steps of: displaying, on the display unit, a plurality of visual symbols, which are transmitted/received between the device and the one or more external devices, in sequence according to the times when the plurality of visual symbols are transmitted/received; receiving an input of a command to enter an editing mode in which the plurality of visual symbols can be edited; receiving an input of an selection command to select one or more visual symbols from among the plurality of visual symbols; and moving the selected one or more visual symbols to predetermined locations so as to change the sequence in which the plurality of visual symbols are displayed. |
