<p>A method for preparing a chiral 3-hydroxy pyrrolidine and a derivative thereof is provided to be easy to industrially and safely mass-produce the chiral 3-hydroxy pyrrolidine and the derivative thereof with high purity. The method comprises the steps of: (a) protecting a hydroxy group of a chiral 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropionitrile using a hydroxy protecting group; and (b) hydrogenating the hydroxy-protected compound obtained from the step(a) to prepare a pyrrolidine compound or a hydrochloride thereof. The method further comprises a step of deprotecting the pyrrolidine compound or the hydrochloride thereof obtained from the step(b) or deprotecting it after reacting the pyrrolidine compound or the hydrochloride thereof with a substrate which is nucleophilically attacked by a nitrogen atom of the pyrrolidine compound to perform N-derivativization.</p> |
