The area after application may be oversprayed with a solution of a non- toxic salt of a metal forming an insoluble alginate, e.g. calcium chloride and further, optionally, after overspraying with the salt, the area is treated with an alkaline solution to raise the pH of the gel and thus make the medicament more readily available. Thiabendazole and Bloat Oil are used as medicaments.
