A blank is provided for a seat cover (30) of a chair having a seat (11) and a backrest (12). In order to be able to produce in a simple way a front edge of the seat (11) and/or a top edge of the backrest (12) with a pleasant appearance, the seat cover (30) has an end (74, 75) which runs around an edge of the seat (11) or the backrest (12) along a wrap-round line (45, 46) in a wrapping cover (32, 33).
