PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber for rubber reinforcement having excellent initial adhesion and water resistance by treating an aromatic polyamide fiber with a liquid containing a specific epoxy compound and aromatic amine and then treating the fiber with a liquid containing RFL and specific compound. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic polyamide fiber is dipped in a liquid containing 1-30wt.% aromatic glycidylamine (preferable example: tetraglycidyldiaminodiphenylmethane) having >=2 epoxy groups and containing 1-100 pts.wt. aromatic amine (preferable example: 3,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether), dried and cured. Then the fiber is dipped in a liquid containing a liquid containing RFL and a compound [e.g. 2,6-bis (2', 4'-dihydroxyphenyl)-4- chlorophenol] expressed by formula I [X is H, OH, Cl or Br; Z is formula II (R3 and R4 are H or alkyl); m is 0-2; n is 1-10] and dried and cured. |
