PURPOSE:To provide an electroviscous fluid which comprises dispersed carbonaceous particles treated with an inorganic acid, etc., and an electric insulating fluid and is useful in the engine mount because it has high electroviscous properties with reduced electric current and no shortcircuiting. CONSTITUTION:The electroviscous fluid comprises (A) anisotropic carbonaceous dispersion particles which are treated with an inorganic acid such as nitric acid or an organic acid such as acetic acid and have 0.02 to 10,000mum length, 0.01 to 500mum diameter and 2 to 1,000,000 aspect ratio, preferably in an amount of 1 to 60wt.% and (B) an electric insulating liquid such as mineral oil or an alkylnaphthalene preferably in an amount of 40 to 99wt.%. |
