PURPOSE:To obtain a new physiologically active substance having plant regulating and herbicidal activity. CONSTITUTION:New substance KSC-4297A. A bacterium which belongs to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing new substance KSC-4297A, is cultured and new substance KSC-4297A is collected from the culture mixture to produce new substance KSC-4297A. New substance KSC-4297A can suppress growth of above-ground part and root part of Decann grass and Japanese radish and inhibit growth of edible Echinoloa spp., large crab-grass, wild spinach, smooth pigweed and Cyperus iria and has plant regulating and herbicidal activity. |
