PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber product for medical use which shows high water and oil repelling properties, even after heat treatment at elevated temperature by treating fiber articles with a polymer having specific properties and bearing polyfluoroalkyl groups. CONSTITUTION:The object fiber products for medical use, particularly suitable in the fields where sterilization is carried out with high-temperature steam or water is prepared by treating fiber articles with a water- and oil-repelling agent containing a fluorine polymer in which the microcrystal melting point arising from the polyfluoroalkyl groups is adjusted to the temperature range over 80 deg.C and the microcrystal melting point arising from the polyfluoroalkyl groups. in the homopolymer is kept over 100 deg.C [preferably a polyfluoroalkyl group-containing monomer mainly comprising a (meth)acrylate] monomer bearing a polyfluoroalkyl group which is to be contained in an amount of 55-100wt.%. As the fiber material, for example, synthetic, natural or metallic fibers are exemplified. |
