PURPOSE:To improve the processing speed of character development by effective ly utilizing intersected storage regions in a method for generating outline charac ter patterns. CONSTITUTION:This method includes intersected point storage region C which stores the intersected points of scan lines and the vectors between character vertexes, a management information storage means A which stores the number of the scan lines, the max. number of the intersected points to be stored, top positions, etc., and a scan information storage means B which stores the number of the intersected points extracted on the scan lines and the address region of the intersected point storage region. The relative lines repetitively subject the addresses to be stored in address regions of the relative lines (m) of 2<(n-1)=m<2<n> to storing of the addresses which are the intermediate between the address regions of the intersected point storage regions of the relative lines 1 of 0<=1<2<(n-1)>, allotting of the intersected point regions as the continuous regions divided by the number of the scan lines and halving of the number of the scan lines and multiplying the number of the intersected points that can be stored at the point of the time when the intersected points of the prescribed scan lines are no longer storable. |
