PURPOSE:To obtain an image processor for three-dimensional CAD or computer graphics in which the surface shape data of an object having an intricate shape can be obtained with a high resolution with no limitation on the method for measuring the three-dimensional coordinate value. CONSTITUTION:A cell generating section 78 generates a voxel data covering a range data inputted from a data input section 77. A cell working section 81 determines the intersection of the voxel data and a line passing the coordinate value of an observation point and the three-dimensional coordinate value of the surface of each inputted range data. An object region determining section 79 determines a corresponding three-dimensional coordinate value for each voxel data and a cell pattern recognizing section 82 determines a relationship between adjacent voxel data depending on the fact whether each voxel data has a corresponding three-dimensional coordinate value or not. A patch generating section 83 generates a triangular patch based on the topological relationship between the adjacent voxel data.
