The direction of an auger machine is easily controlled with accuracy but without any operation delay. The correlation between the positional deviation and the variation thereof of the auger machine and a driving command given to an actuator is beforehand prepared, and the drive command corresponding to the input values, i.e., the present positional deviation detected by a positional deviation detecting means and the present variation of positional deviation calculated by a variation-of-positional-deviation calculating means is outputted to the actuator on the basis of the correlation.
